Self Knowledge

Demonstrates growth and competence in:
goal setting, planning, assuming responsibility, motivation/self direction, reflection, self assessment, multiple intelligences, emotional intelligence, finding your passion

Technology Tools

Demonstrates growth and competence in:
media (text, audio, and video production tools), productivity tools (presentation, statistical, database),
communication tools, email, chat, discussions, telephone, texting, networking tools, web, integration of platforms and applications

This powerpoint I made in BIT and it shows my technology tools skills because I used the many tools of powerpoint to make the best out of the powerpoint. I enjoyed being creative and looking for the pictures I needed in order to complete the powerpoint. I learned about many tools that powerpoint had and how to solve problems I had with powerpoint.I also enjoyed using all of the tools that powerpoint provides and finding the one I need to make the presentation do what I want. I found difficult to put the ideas out of my head into the powerpoint because sometimes, the powerpoint just would not do what I wanted to do. What really worked was the animations in the powerpoint because I spent a long time on it. The next step for me is to use more custom animations and slide transitions in powerpoint presentations for other classes.

Communication Process

Demonstrates growth and competence in:
public presentation of self, interpersonal relationships (peers, family, teachers, mentors), public speaking

This is my unit 4 project speech and it shows my publication of self and public speaking skills because it is the longest speech out of all my history speeches and in my opinion the best. I enjoyed creating my speech and especially presenting it in front of the class room. I feel that through this speech, I improved my public speaking abitities by a lot. I found difficult to keep it short to make it an interesting presentation. What I would do differently next time is, I would go over my speech more often before my presentation, I would put it on notecards and practice it more often. The next step for me now is to improve my public speaking skills in other classes, for example Language Arts.

Goal: I will try to improve my communication process skill by improving my public speaking abilities and I am going to do that by trying to earn a 90% or higher on my oral presentation in history.

Collaboration and Community

Demonstrates growth and competence in:
workplace expectations/skills/abilities, workplace resources, collaboration and teamwork, decision making, problem solving, creativity, navigating the community,
civic engagement (leadership, social skill, politeness, task skill, helpfulness, diversity, clarity, success of outcomes)

Road Trip Project Wiki
Those two pieces of evidence are from my Road Trip Project where I had to collaborate with a partner and do a project together. I enjoyed working together with another person and not having to decide everything about the presentation myself. I learned how to use the wiki to communicate and share information between each other. I found difficult to collaborate with my partner when we were not in school but that worked out okay, too. Having to organize a presentation together with other people really helps to build social and community skills. What really worked was the division of who does what for the presentation because my partner for this project was really cooperative and we had no problems compromising if we had different ideas. What I would do differently next time is that I would divide up the tasks more clearly, so everybody in the group exactly knows what to do and when it is due.

Research and Assessment Tools

Demonstrates growth and competence in:
library skills and information literacy, search strategies, evaluating sources, mathematical reasoning, scientific method, data presentation and interpretation, rubrics, assessment, reflection

This is my works cited for my last history project and it demonstrates my research and assessment tools because it shows that I demonstrated growth and competence in evaluationg sources. I enjoyed looking for information on the internet to use for my presentation. I also enjoyed searching for tools to "evaluate" my resarch (like bibme or noodletools). To do this works cited, I also had to use rubrics to do the works cited in order to get everything right. What I found difficult was to alphabetize all the citations in the correct way. What really worked was using the technology tools to complete my works cited. I learned much more information on how to use technology tools for research. What I would do differently next time is that I would not use bibme because it does not alphabetize right, I would use noodletools.
